Dr. Maurice A. Lee

Dr. Maurice A. Lee is the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in Conway, Arkansas. He is a Caribbean and African American literature scholar, and his expertise also includes American literature and genre (short story) criticism. Dr. Lee has worked closely with the world's most renowned short story writers, scholars, and critics. Among other positions, Dr. Lee is the founder and editor of Journal of Caribbean Literatures, the Director of the International Conference on the Short Story in English, and the vice president of the Society for the Study of the Short Story.

Dr. Lee presents at academic and literary conferences all over the world, and he has established the Humanities and World Cultural Institute to enrich UCA's and Arkansas' literary heritage. Dr. Lee is particularly skilled in curriculum development, diversity in the classroom, assessment, accreditation reviews, motivational speaking, and consultancy.
